What is Lockdown Mode in TrueMark?

Lockdown mode is designed to help you focus on your assignment. Once you enter lockdown mode, you’ll be in full-screen mode to complete your work.

✅ Pre-Checklist

⚠️ Watch Out!

Browser:

Zoom Level: Set your browser zoom to 100% (Ctrl+0 on Windows, Cmd+0 on Mac).

Clear Screen: Close other apps or overlays that might block full-screen mode.

Hide Taskbar/Dock: Set your Taskbar (Windows) or Dock (Mac) to "Automatically Hide".

Stay Awake: Set your computer's sleep settings to "Never" or a long duration so you don't get locked out while thinking.

Your teacher will be notified if you:

  • Exit full-screen mode or hold the Escape key.

  • Switch tabs or applications.

  • Open an application overlay.

  • Lose focus on the assignment for more than 10 seconds.

  • Press sensitive keys on their own (Ctrl, Cmd, Option, Alt, Windows, or Search). Doing this will lock you out!

Once you're in, it should look like this:

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Can't enter full screen? Double-check for screen blockers or open apps. Ensure your browser zoom is exactly 100% (Ctrl+0 on Windows, Cmd+0 on Mac).

  • Taskbar won't hide? Try these tips:

On Windows: (Right-click the taskbar → Taskbar settings → turn on Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode).

On Mac:

  • In "System Settings" > "Control Center" > "Automatically hide and show the menu bar" should be set to "Always" or "In Full-screen"

  • In "System Settings" > "Desktop & Dock" > "Automatically hide and show the Dock" should be on

Open Chrome:

  • Move your cursor to the very top so the macOS menu bar appears > Click View in the menu bar > "Always Show Toolbar in Full Screen" should be unchecked

  • Keep getting locked out? Make sure your computer isn't going to sleep. Adjust power/battery settings to "Never" sleep.

Still stuck? Don't panic! Let your teacher know!
