Create a Class

TrueMark offers two options for creating classes:

1) Import from your school's LMS, which will automatically add your student rosters (only available for school plans)

2) Create manually, which allows you to upload a CSV of your students or share a link with students to join

To begin, log in and click the blue "Create or Import Class" button on the right side of your screen.

1) Import Classes

Select your school's LMS to log in with your institutional credentials. (Note: You need proper administrator permissions to complete this step.)

Though the interface varies by LMS, the process remains consistent:

  • Select the classes to add

  • Assign grade level and subject area to each class

After importing, your classes will appear in your TrueMark Dashboard.

Student accounts & Assigning work

Directly within LMS: If your school has enabled LMS support and you link the TrueMark assignment to your LMS using this guide, students will get a direct link to their TrueMark assignment from within the LMS.

or you can share a direct link...

2) Manually Add Classes

Enter the class details to create the class

Click "Next", and then choose how you want to add students

  • Share an invite link that'll prompt them to create an account

  • Import their accounts via CSV if you have a sheet of their names and emails

  • Or manually enter their emails

For best results, import via CSV to automatically include students' first names, last names, and emails.

Student accounts & Assigning work

After you've added students to your class, you can create an assignment and share it with them.

Share a direct link: After you create an assignment, students will typically get an email that links them to their assignment. Sometimes this gets blocked by spam filters, so we recommend also sharing the link with them.

You can find the assignment link under your assignment's action menu. This will allow them to sign in with their registered email and direct them to their assignment.

Removing students & Managing roster changes

  • Removing students: To remove students from a class, find your class in TrueMark and then click on the "Students" tab to review your student roster. Then, click "..." > "Remove student"

  • Managing roster updates: Student rosters often change at the beginning of the year. To make sure your TrueMark roster is up to date, open your class, go to the Students tab, and click Refresh from LMS.

    • Missing a new student? Roster changes can take up to 24 hours to appear. Try refreshing again the next day, or add the student manually. If you add them manually, it may take up to 24 hours before they can submit work.

    • Student changed classes? Their previous work will remain in their old class. You can remove them from the old class when you're ready.
