Our school uses a platform called TrueMark to support the teaching and learning of writing.
What is TrueMark?
TrueMark is designed for classroom use and puts teachers in control of how AI is used. Students work in a secure environment, where teachers decide:
the assignment and expectations
how (or if) AI can be used
what sources students and AI tools can reference
This allows teachers to guide students in using AI responsibly and effectively.
How does TrueMark keep student data safe?
Student data is kept private and secure. TrueMark is compliant with FERPA and COPPA.
TrueMark only collects the minimum information needed to support student learning, as described in our privacy policy. Additionally, it does not sell student data to any third parties.
How it works behind the scenes
AI feedback for students is optional and based on school and teacher policies. When enabled, TrueMark uses advanced AI models, including Claude and Gemini, to support student learning. These models are integrated in a secure way that does not store or train on any student data.
If the teachers enable AI feedback for students:
AI can be a helpful brainstorming and feedback partner, but teachers remain at the center of instruction. They set clear expectations and limits to ensure AI is used appropriately and not over-relied on.
All student interactions with AI are visible to teachers.
The AI is designed to stay focused on learning goals. All TrueMark AI features use a Socratic style, asking questions and nudging reflection without writing student work for them.
