There are two ways to grade a Canvas assignment:
1. (Recommended) Use TrueMark's Speed Grader & grades will auto-sync to Canvas
This is recommended, because it's a faster and smoother grading experience, especially for courses with multiple sections. Grades will still get synced to your Canvas Grade Book.
Head to the assignment in TrueMark ➡️ Click "Load [Assignment] in a new window"
In TrueMark: Choose the section you want to grade.
You'll be directed to the assignment page.
Click on a submission, and you'll be directed to the TrueMark Speed Grader.
When you enter a grade, it should sync to your LMS. If it synced correctly, you'll see "Saved and synced to LMS"
If you have multiple sections in your course: you can grade the next section either by heading back to the TrueMark Assignment Page and navigating to the next section or by restarting this process in Canvas with the next section.
2. Use the Canvas speed grader
When you enter a grade on the TrueMark side, it should sync to your LMS. If it synced correctly, you'll see "Saved and synced to LMS". If you refresh the page, you'll see your grade populated in the Canvas panel.
Publishing grades
Before publishing grades, we recommend quickly reviewing your Canvas gradebook and TrueMark Assignment Page to ensure that all grades have synced properly.
Numerical grades will get synced to Canvas based on your publishing settings. This means if your Grades in Canvas are set to auto-publish, students will be able to view their numerical grade in Canvas immediately.
⚠️ To release the TrueMark Grade Report with your comments, you must click "Return Grade". You can do this individually for each student or in bulk by returning to the TrueMark Assignment Page.
🚫 Unsupported Grade Types
When you create an assignment in Canvas, you can choose how the grade is displayed. Please note that TrueMark can only sync "point" values to the Canvas gradebook.
We currently do not support syncing grades for the following types:
Percentage
Complete/Incomplete
Letter Grade
GPA Scale
Rubric
